Throughout his career, Mr. Chaustre has advised senior government officials and national agencies on complex risks related to international geopolitics, illicit economies, corruption, and transnational security threats, delivering analysis that supports high-level strategic decision-making.
At Guidepost, Mr. Chaustre Ruiz specializes in investigations, risk assessment, and compliance matters. He advises clients on identifying and mitigating threats associated with transnational organized crime, financial misconduct, and geopolitical risk. His work leverages advanced intelligence-gathering methodologies including human intelligence (HUMINT) and open-source intelligence (OSINT) to provide actionable insights for organizations operating in high-risk environments.
Prior to joining Guidepost, Mr. Chaustre Ruiz held senior leadership and advisory roles within Colombia’s national security and financial intelligence sectors. He served as a senior advisor to agency directors, providing doctrinal guidance on anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorism financing (CTF) frameworks. In addition, he led large-scale internal affairs and asset security operations, managing multidisciplinary teams of investigators and analysts.
Mr. Chaustre Ruiz has a proven record of leading high-impact analytical teams focused on international affairs and illicit economies. He spearheaded the implementation of new counterintelligence structures to combat corruption, strengthened institutional cybersecurity and reliability protocols, and conducted regional strategic analysis on geopolitical developments affecting transnational security. He also contributed to the design and implementation of international cooperation policies aimed at enhancing institutional capabilities.
Mr. Chaustre Ruiz has completed advanced training in intelligence analysis, elicitation, and interviewing with leading international intelligence agencies. He is also certified in human rights and international organization management.

He has completed professional certifications in Human Rights from the Berg Institute and International Organization Management from the University of Geneva.
