Ruttura and Sons Construction Company, Inc.
The conviction of a principal of Ruttura and Sons Construction Co., Inc. on criminal charges relating to unfair labor practices resulted in a monitoring agreement between Ruttura and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. The agreement required Ruttura to retain an Independent Private Sector Inspector General to monitor various provisions of the agreement. Subsequent to its execution, other agencies either required their own agreement or “piggybacked” on the Port Authority’s agreement. The additional agencies are the New York City Economic Development Corporation, the New York City Business Integrity Commission and the New York State Dormitory Authority. Guidepost Solutions performed services that included background investigations of subcontractors and their affiliates, development and implementation of a corruption prevention program, forensic accounting reviews of business records for labor practices and special investigations as needed.
