T-Mobile Bid for UScellular Raises a Number of National Security Issues

T-Mobile has announced its intention to acquire nearly all of UScellular, the fourth-largest wireless carrier in the U.S. This acquisition raises several intriguing questions, particularly regarding a business unit within UScellular that exclusively serves federal agencies. In a recent article by Foreign Investment Watch, Ken Mendelson shares his expertise on the matter through a national security lens. “It would be ‘highly unlikely’ that the transaction would not be reviewed by Team Telecom and CFIUS,” said Ken.
