Juan David Leal is a seasoned professional with extensive international experience in strategic intelligence, risk management, regulatory compliance, and the resolution of complex disputes. Throughout his career, he has supported multinational corporations, public entities, and government institutions across Latin America and beyond in identifying and mitigating operational, political, legal, and reputational risks.
Mr. Leal specializes in complex investigations, enhanced due diligence, litigation and arbitration support, and intelligence-driven strategy development. He has advised clients on compliance with the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and local anti-corruption frameworks in Latin America, assisting organizations in designing and implementing integrity programs, conducting internal investigations, and responding to enforcement actions and regulatory scrutiny.
He has played a key role in expanding the footprint of global consulting firms in new markets. At J.S. Held LLC and Berkeley Research Group (BRG), he was instrumental in establishing and growing their operations in Mexico. In leadership roles at Kroll and ON Partners, he led multi-jurisdictional investigations across Mexico, Central America, and South America, working closely with legal teams, corporate executives, and external counsel to address high-risk matters.
Before entering the consulting world, Mr. Leal built a strong foundation as an international journalist. He served as a correspondent for Agencia EFE in Mexico and Brussels, reporting on political, economic, and security developments. He managed high-impact news coverage, led investigative reporting teams, and cultivated access to critical sources—experience that sharpened his ability to operate effectively in dynamic and high-stakes environments.
