Guidepost Solutions was retained by a New York real estate management company to monitor its compliance with the terms of an assurance of discontinuance with the Office of the Attorney General of the State of New York. Throughout the engagement, our integrity monitoring team performed tasks in connection with Vantage’s adoption and implementation of new written policies and procedures as well as employee training on new policies designed to ensure fair treatment of tenants. These tasks included the preparation of a written monitoring plan; file reviews on a randomly selected sample of residents; the determination and communication of appropriate compensation to claimants; reviews of buy-out agreements; evaluations of log reports associated with telephone inquiries from residents; the investigation of resident complaints; and written reports detailing our methodologies, findings and conclusions.
