Patricia Mullin

Managing Director

Patricia Mullin joins Guidepost’s Immigration and Border Services practice in the role of managing director as a career investigator with more than 30 years of expertise. Her career to date spans both the Immigration and Naturlization Service (INS) under the Department of Justice (DOJ), and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) under the Department of Homeland Secuity (DHS). She has managed and led complex criminal and administrative investigations related to immigration and benefit fraud, human smuggling/trafficking, child exploitation, worksite enforcement and national security matters. She is also experienced in compliance audits and risk mitigation strategies in both government and corporate settings.

Prior to joining Guidepost, Ms. Mullin led investigative efforts across a broad range of areas, including employment eligibility compliance, procurement activities, payroll and benefits fraud, and employee code of conduct violations for a Pennsylvania-based company. She has conducted numerous internal investigations that resulted in disciplinary actions, process improvements, and referrals for criminal prosecution. Her work has involved high-level collaboration with law enforcement agencies, ethics and compliance teams, and corporate leadership to ensure the integrity of operations and adherence to regulatory requirements.

Ms. Mullin has a strong background in managing multi-jurisdictional and inter-agency investigations, particularly in cases involving human smuggling/trafficking, immigration fraud, and financial crimes. She has extensive experience conducting interviews at all organizational levels, analyzing investigative findings, and implementing corrective measures. Additionally, she has played a key role in developing and delivering compliance training programs to enhance organizational awareness and adherence to policies and regulations.

Throughout her career, Ms. Mullin has been recognized for her contributions to law enforcement and corporate compliance. She has received multiple awards for exceptional service, including recognition for leading a high-profile criminal investigation that resulted in corporate convictions and significant financial forfeitures. In 2023, Ms. Mullin was also the recipient of the DHS Secretary’s Meritorous Service Award and in 2022, she received the Assistant Attorney General’s Award for Exceptional Service.  In the early 2000s, Ms. Mullin supervised a criminal investigation for HSI related to a Worksite Enforcement Investigation involving the harboring and labor trafficking of foreign nationals; the investigation resulted in 15 corporate convictions and 2 individual criminal convictions, along with the largest financial forfeiture figure collected by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to date at the time.

Ms. Mullin earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and Spanish from LaSalle University.

In her spare time, Trish decided to go back to college and in 2016, she obtained her degree in Veterinary Nursing from Purdue University.  In retirement, Trish plans to donate her time to non-profit animal rescues caring for sick and homeless animals while they wait for their forever homes.
