Michael J. Dundas is a Certified Construction Auditor. He has more than 20 years of experience working in the private and public sectors with an in-depth background conducting compliance and contract administration reviews and performing/directing audits of large-scale construction projects.
During his tenure with the Port Authority, Mr. Dundas spearheaded the newly created World Trade Center Audit Division. In this role, he was responsible for the execution of the audit plan covering activities related to the redevelopment projects at the World Trade Center site. He performed contract, construction, operational and financial reviews; addressed high risk areas, management concerns and key initiatives; and identified areas in need of improvement and corrective action. Mr. Dundas also drafted Hurricane Sandy procedures for the World Trade Center site for contractor billings.
Subsequently, as an assistant director in the Audit Department, he was responsible for directing the work of 4 audit divisions, reviewing and editing reports and providing quarterly reports to the Audit Committee of the Board. He also consulted with executive staff on internal controls and high-risk areas.
Most recently, Mr. Dundas was a project manager/consultant and worked closely with contractors, state agencies, and public and private companies. He performed compliance and financial reviews of CARES Act funding and utilization, as well as various risk-based construction and procurement engagements for clients.
