Joe Leonard brings a robust background that spans investor relations, crisis management, press relations, and international development to Guidepost. Mr. Leonard has demonstrated expertise in navigating complex business environments and achieving strategic objectives.
Most recently, as executive director at a corporate advisory firm in Mexico, Mr. Leonard led an investor relations consulting team advising more than ten of the largest companies in the country. In this position, he worked across various sectors, directing quarterly workshopping sessions with executive leadership teams, ghostwriting investor materials, and refining project management processes. Mr. Leonard also provided crisis management counsel to foreign clients. Thanks to his work across varied industry sectors, he has an excellent understanding of the Mexican business environment.
Previously, Mr. Leonard served as a procurement and financial specialist at a research institute, where he developed systems for projecting grant spending. He managed project processes to ensure timeliness and adherence to budget, and led an organizational restructuring. His prior experience includes serving as a project manager at an international development firm, a USAID contractor supporting a rule of law initiative in Mexico. Starting his career, Mr. Leonard gained experience in field organizing and data-driven decision-making as a member of a political campaign.
Mr. Leonard is certified as fluent in Spanish at the C2 level by the Cervantes Institute.
