Elise N. Ryan is the director of research in the New York office of Guidepost Solutions. She handles complex due diligence assignments, background investigations, asset searches, and private investigations. She has an extensive background conducting in-depth online research and providing civil and criminal litigation support.
Ms. Ryan is an expert in navigating publics records and has advanced knowledge using multiple database and research tools including Accurint, CLEAR, PACER, LexisNexis, Westlaw, and Bloomberg.
Previously, Ms. Ryan spent seven years at the City of New York Business Integrity Commission. As a Senior Legal Analyst, she reported directly to the First Deputy Commissioner and General Counsel; liaised with other local and federal law enforcement agencies in developing cases for prosecution; and worked closely with the agency’s attorneys to strategize on fact-finding for pending applications and investigations. Ms. Ryan also served in the role of Deputy Director of the Background Investigations Unit and Intelligence Analyst. She conducted background investigations on companies applying for permits in the construction industry; assisted with depositions by drafting questions, preparing exhibits and providing background information; and collected and analyzed information across multiple public and law enforcement databases for connections to organized crime and convicted racketeers.
Earlier in her career, Ms. Ryan was a compliance coordinator at the McCann School of Business and Technology where she helped implement new policies and procedures for compliance standards set by the school’s national accrediting organization.
