David Gaied is an experienced security system designer specializing in end-to-end design of closed-circuit television (CCTV), intrusion detection, and access control systems. His in-depth background includes engineering, low-voltage systems, writing specifications, architectural design, computer aided design (CAD), and builder information modeling (BIM).
At Guidepost Solutions, Mr. Gaied has worked closely with large data center clients on state-of-the-art information and communication technologies (ICT)/electronic security systems (ESS), techniques, procedures, design, and modifications. This includes designing and specifying ICT/ESS for structured cabling, backbone/horizontal cabling, access control, camera and intrusion detection systems, public address systems and other similar low voltage systems. He also conducts quality assurance and quality control checks on projects.
Prior to joining Guidepost Solutions in 2023, Mr. Gaied was a senior VDC BIM design engineer at Securitas Technology. He was responsible for BIM coordination between low voltage security systems and any other trades, as well as designing low voltage security systems and associated network architecture. Mr. Gaied’s experience includes serving as a senior design engineer at Electronic Security and Communications Corp. where he prepared and maintained engineering project layouts, production drawings, and related documentation. He also designed electrical and communication systems, associated network architecture, as well as systems for access control, CCTV, communications, intercom, WIFI, AV, and MDF and IDF layouts and racks.
Mr. Gaied spent the early part of his career in Alexandria, Egypt working in the areas of architectural CAD and BIM design and site acquisition and engineering for several organizations. This includes EGY Trading and Engineering Company (Egypro), a firm specializing in telecommunications in Egypt, the Middle East, and North Africa, as well as the EGYCAN Architecture Consulting Office.
