Selma Jasarevic joins Guidepost in the Miami office as an analyst. A former investigator reviewing capital punishment cases, Ms. Jasarevic brings her investigative skills to help clients with their research requirements. These skills combined with her fluency in Spanish are instrumental to assisting with projects in South America in conjunction with our team in Miami and Bogota.
Prior to joining Guidepost, Ms. Jasarevic worked for the southern region of the Capital Collateral Regional Counsel (CCRC), where she conducted detailed research of capital punishment cases where innocence or penalty mitigation was possible. Prior to CCRC, Ms. Jasarevic spent two years at different agencies, working to help victims of human trafficking.
Ms. Jasarevic is adept at working with multidisciplinary teams including attorneys, investigators, and local and national agencies. She is also an expert in collecting both qualitative and quantitative data to secure federal grants from U.S. government agencies, especially the Department of Justice.
From her work with victims of human trafficking, Ms. Jasarevic has helped to provide trauma-informed services. She has served on panels and committee subgroups to discuss material issues on the subject. Ms. Jasarevic has also provided as-needed training and technical support to stakeholders and non-profit organizations.
