With more than a decade of experience in end-user-based roles, Kevin Kent brings a unique perspective to consulting and professional services — that of the customer. His strategic business acumen is an asset to clients as they navigate organizational challenges that commonly evolve during the implementation phases of physical security related initiatives. During his career, Mr. Kent has been complimented on his tenacity to follow-up and his detail-oriented, practical, and no-frills approach to enterprise-level problem solving.

As a project manager for Guidepost, Mr. Kent supports several clients and engagements in a variety of verticals. He performs physical and technical security assessments, reviews and develops security policies and procedures, evaluates security program operations, provides security and safety training, and supports the implementation of new security technology programs from design through installation oversight and commissioning. As a Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) practitioner, he provides industry-leading best practices and recommendations for implementing realistic and cost-effective CPTED solutions for improvements in the proper design and effective use of built environments.

Prior to joining Guidepost in 2021, Mr. Kent’s professional experience included leadership roles in physical security, loss prevention, and investigations within big-box and off-priced retailers and the quick-service restaurant industry. During that time, he developed and executed upon strategic loss prevention and asset protection measures consisting of hyper-focused shrink mitigation strategies, data-driven internal theft reduction programs and tactical initiatives for single-unit facilities. Most recently, Mr. Kent developed and deployed a highly regarded active shooter training program for both domestic and international markets. Additionally, he spearheaded the technical implementation and standardization for access control and IP camera surveillance systems for the company’s headquarters, data center, R&D facility, and distribution centers across North America.
