John Bekisz, Jr., PE, PSP is an associate vice president of Physical Security at Guidepost Solutions. Mr. Bekisz has experience in security design engineering, consulting, and system integrating. He brings his professional security abilities as well as providing engineering and consulting services to his clients. He helps his clients by guiding them through selecting, implementing, and developing security programs.
Mr. Bekisz has had extensive professional experience in both engineering and security. Prior to joining Guidepost, Mr. Bekisz was senior director of engineering at Securitas Electronic Security where he managed and coordinated all engineering actives. He was project engineering director at East Side Access where his team was responsible for developing and providing video systems, access control, voice communications, security management, SCADA control systems, two-way radio communications, network infrastructure and network monitoring, public address, and digital signage.
Mr. Bekisz got his first hands on experience in engineering with the U.S. Army working as an engineering technician. He was federally employed working for ARDEC on biometric electronic access control platforms and helping with in-theater deployment and use by the war fighter.
Mr. Bekisz is a certified physical security professional by ASIS International and a licensed professional engineer. He is vice chair of the ASIS Security Architecture and Engineering Community. He teaches a semiannual course on video surveillance and biometrics and has developed a virtual learning course for ASIS which includes PSP virtual study guide and facility security design course.
