Jami Treantafeles is an expert in pharmaceutical controlled substance investigations and regulatory compliance. With more than 12 years of experience, she has proven ability and technical competence in identifying and preventing the diversion of pharmaceutical controlled substances and listed chemicals.

A former Diversion Investigator with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Ms. Treantafeles brings years of experience investigating violations of the Controlled Substance Act (CSA), and the Chemical Diversion and Trafficking Act (CDTA) regarding the manufacture, distribution, and dispensing of legitimately produced controlled substances and listed chemicals, to prevent diversion of the same into the illicit market and ensure compliance with federal law. In her previous role, she conducted complex criminal, civil, and regulatory compliance investigations of DEA registrants, including manufacturers, distributors, narcotic treatment programs, importers, exporters, researchers, practitioners, and pharmacies.

She began her career with the DEA in the Houston Field Division in 2011 where she was assigned to the diversion group, the Tactical Diversion Squad, and the Houston Police Department during her tenure.  While in Houston, Ms. Treantafeles was the lead investigator on numerous complex criminal and civil diversion cases, resulting in criminal convictions, civil fines, and administrative consequences.  In 2017, Ms. Treantafeles transferred to the Tulsa, Oklahoma Resident Office.  In Tulsa Ms. Treantafeles was the lead investigator on numerous cases, with results including the first federal indictments on physicians to happen in two separate districts in Oklahoma in decades.   During her tenure as a Diversion Investigator, Ms. Treantafeles maintained outstanding ratings and was the recipient of numerous awards related to her contributions to the agency.

Ms. Treantafeles has testified in federal court on diversion related matters in criminal, civil, and administrative proceedings, including both state and federal Grand Jury proceedings.

Throughout her career, Ms. Treantafeles has served as a mentor and trainer for new diversion investigators.  Ms. Treantafeles is a respected trainer, and a loyal colleague to all whom she encounters. She is a notable speaker on all issues pertaining to controlled substance compliance and diversion, and often presents and speaks at industry events and community outreach programs to provide diversion expertise to DEA registrants, law enforcement entities, regulatory agencies, and the community regarding the CSA and the CDTA.
