Guidepost provided litigation support and reviewed financial documents, including detailed account statements and independent audit work papers, to determine the sequence of contributions and redemptions by investors. This exercise was undertaken to substantiate whether investors suffering substantial losses had been victims of a Ponzi-scheme. In addition, Guidepost reviewed fund offering memoranda, investment management agreements, quarterly reports to investors and other relevant material to ascertain whether the fund was appropriately managed, transactions were consistent with the funds’ stated objectives, and management accurately reported operating results to investors. Guidepost prepared an expert report and provided testimony at a pre-trial deposition.
