Kent M. Solt

Senior Director

Kent M. Solt joined the Washington, D.C. office of Guidepost Solutions in 2014 with more than 15 years of compliance, research and investigative experience. As senior director of the Guidepost Solutions research team, he leverages his advanced database and open source research skills, journalism background and legal education to conduct deep dive investigations for high profile individuals and entities. He regularly handles complex research assignments and has experience leading compliance monitorship engagements.

Prior to joining Guidepost Solutions, Mr. Solt was a senior investigative analyst with KeyPoint Government Solutions, where he was a member of the monitoring team for a large international bank. In addition, he provided due diligence and analytical services for the U.S. Department of Energy’s Clean Energy Loan Guarantee Program. He also conducted background investigations and provided analysis for state gaming commissions.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Solt spent over a decade with LexisNexis Legal Publishing where he held several positions including editorial manager and lead content planner. Among his many duties, he led a team of 25 attorney editors in producing more than 40,000 case law summaries and statutory annotations annually. Prior to LexisNexis, Mr. Solt worked for one of the largest insurance companies in the U.S. and at a local newspaper. 

Mr. Solt also has firsthand experience working with local governments and boards, once serving as an elected member of his hometown’s city council.

Did you know?

While playing center on his high school football team that competed in the state championship game his junior and senior seasons, Mr. Solt also played the lead role in productions of The Music Man and Our Town. His football coaches nicknamed him “Hollywood.”
