Multinational Delivery Services Company
In connection with a multinational delivery services company’s settlement with the government, Guidepost was engaged as an Independent Compliance Consultant to advise the company on compliance with federal and state law to prevent the illegal shipment of untaxed cigarettes into the State of New York.
Our CEO was selected by the New York State Office of the Attorney General and the New York City Law Department to serve an Independent Compliance Consultant for the company, which settled a civil suit with the state and city government to resolve allegations concerning the illegal shipment of untaxed cigarettes. The Guidepost team was engaged to advise the company on compliance with federal and state laws concerning the transport of cigarettes into the State of New York and to assist the company in identifying shippers that were using the company to illegally ship cigarettes. As part of this engagement, our team aided the company in strengthening its policies and procedures designed to prevent and detect the illegal shipment of cigarettes through its network.
