Tania Benedit is a foreign-trained attorney with expertise in Latin American law and experience in fraud investigations, due diligence investigations, international asset tracing, risk assessment, compliance, and forensic accounting analysis.

Since joining Guidepost in 2021, Ms. Benedit has participated in complex investigations for litigation support in the United States and Latin America that require international on-the-ground intelligence collection, witness interviewing, witness support, and surveillance. She was part of the field team investigating a substantial fraud scheme in Peru. Her work included multiple interviews, document procurement before foreign government agencies, and witness preparation for depositions. She designed sworn affidavits in Spanish and English and created a database to manage and effectively analyze vast amounts of information. She has also provided special witness support in a crucial case concerning the jurisdiction of Ecuador.

Ms. Benedit also conducts investigations involving open-source intelligence collection from worldwide jurisdictions. She has successfully participated in asset tracing investigations with analytical support for clients with interests in the United States, Cuba, England, Ecuador, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Prior to joining Guidepost, Ms. Benedit was a community coordinator at The Rock Family Community Center. She was responsible for the legal review of documents and compliance, while working alongside the School Board of Miami-Dade County.  

Earlier in her career, Ms. Benedit was a justice assistant attorney for the Supreme Court of Justice of Venezuela. She led research projects in support of law interpretation and rulings related to political and administrative matters involving the Venezuelan government. She also led numerous sensitive cases in support of a panel of justices’ rulings.  

Ms. Benedit first worked with Guidepost on a capstone project during her graduate studies at Florida International University. Senior Guidepost professionals mentored her during her research and analysis of the risks and scenarios of foreign investment in Venezuela’s oil industry.
