Scott E. Allegretto is a managing director at Guidepost Solutions, LLC. His experience includes law enforcement with the New York State Deputy Attorney General for Medicaid Fraud Control, management consulting, litigation support and financial investigations.
Prior to joining Guidepost Solutions, Mr. Allegretto was a senior director for Citigate Global Intelligence and Security (CGIS), in its Business Investigations and Controls practice where he conducted several financial investigations and fraud audits. Amongst his experience is the investigation of businesses in the transportation, construction, healthcare, municipalities and non-for-profit entities.
Subsequent to joining CGIS, Mr. Allegretto was a director at Kroll Associates, Inc. in its Financial Services Group where he conducted several financial investigations, fraud audits and integrity monitoring engagements. In addition, he conducted hundreds of interviews, was responsible for developing audit procedures and audited the books and records of select vendors and departments of a large town municipality.
Mr. Allegretto’s forensic auditing career began as a Senior Auditor/Investigator for the New York State Office of the Attorney General Medicaid Fraud Control Unit. He performed numerous forensic audits and financial investigations involving white-collar misconduct. Mr. Allegretto has testified in state grand jury proceedings and has prepared various exhibits utilized to obtain criminal convictions.
Mr. Allegretto’s initial professional experience was gained as an accountant for a small to mid-sized local accounting firm. He maintained the books and records of companies in many different industries; prepared corporate and personal income tax returns, and assisted on several certified audits.
