Ramon Valls is a forensic accountant with broad knowledge and experience in accounting, fraud investigations, internal controls evaluation, risk assessment, compliance, and financial reporting analysis.

Mr. Valls has vast international experience, spanning Latin America, Europe, and Africa and Middle East regions, in multiple industries, including pharmaceuticals, mining, manufacturing, healthcare insurance, retail, financial services, construction, government, and regulatory bodies. He has performed numerous investigations for publicly traded multinationals of alleged Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (“FCPA”) violations throughout their Latin American operations. He has played a vital role in several Foreign Corrupt Practices Act high risk audits and acquisition due diligences.

Mr. Valls was a senior director at FTI Consulting for 14 years, where he used forensic investigation skills and developed investigation strategies to assist attorneys in developing and refining strategy, and in preparing for trial. Mr. Valls’ litigation support assignments also included national and international asset valuations, financial modeling, pre-transactional valuations, and import-export analysis. He also has experience in areas relating to fraudulent insurance claims in the healthcare sector, including forensic accounting investigations of insurance companies’ records in order to determine assets possession and distribution of funds.

Mr. Valls started his career at KPMG where he gained accounting and financial analysis experience by participating in financial statement attestation engagements for a number of multinational organizations, specifically in the banking and real estate sectors. As an integral part of the attestation engagements, Mr. Valls focused on the identification of process improvement opportunities and the effectiveness of the client’s internal controls environment.

Mr. Valls holds a bachelor of business administration., summa cum laude, in accounting and finance from the University of Miami, and a minor in marketing. He is fluent in Spanish, English, and knowledgeable in Portuguese.
