Robert Brisolari

Senior Managing Director

Robert Brisolari is an accomplished senior leader and senior managing director in Guidepost’s Monitoring, Compliance, and Investigations practice. He has held executive-level positions within the U.S. Department of Justice and with both publicly traded and privately held companies. Mr. Brisolari possesses extensive experience conducting complex investigations; leading controlled substances compliance programs for a Fortune 500 company; directing large financial investigative teams; navigating domestic and international crises; and ensuring emergency preparedness for a U.S. government agency.

Drawing upon this experience, Mr. Brisolari provides clients with tailored, sustainable solutions that reflect their organizational dynamics, culture, and operational needs. He continues to apply this depth of experience to Guidepost’s most complex and mission-critical client initiatives.

While at Guidepost, Mr. Brisolari’s significant engagements include:

  • Led the Independent After-Action Report (AAR) for Guidepost Solutions, evaluating the multi-agency response and recovery efforts following the tragic mass shooting at Oxford High School (OHS) on November 30, 2021. The incident claimed the lives of four students and injured seven others. The AAR delivered critical insights and actionable recommendations to strengthen future crisis response and interagency coordination.
  • Conducted comprehensive assessments and regulatory gap analyses for several large-scale pharmaceutical manufacturers, including the development and delivery of targeted training programs designed to enhance compliance and operational integrity.
  • Performs ongoing independent evaluations of Suspicious Order Monitoring (SOM) reporting for a large-scale manufacturer, focusing on strengthening internal controls and mitigating diversion risks. This engagement requires close coordination with responsible distributors and downstream customers.
  • Conducted an investigation into a global organization engaged in unethical business practices, uncovering pivotal evidence and securing key witness cooperation. The findings supported international advocacy efforts and underscored the critical need for equitable and ethical standards across the industry.
  • Provided subject matter expertise for a documentary chronicling the fentanyl epidemic, contributing insights into the regulatory, enforcement, and public health dimensions of the crisis.

Prior to joining Guidepost, Mr. Brisolari served as vice president for Regulatory Affairs at McKesson Corporation, leading the company’s Controlled Substances Monitoring Program (CSMP). In this role, he oversaw due diligence reviews of retail pharmacies, hospital systems, and government agencies; ensured regulatory compliance; developed and implemented CSMP policies, procedures, practices, and training; and served as a liaison with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy, the National Association of Controlled Substances Authorities; and other supply chain industry groups.

Following a distinguished career with the DEA, Mr. Brisolari joined Deloitte Advisory, where he led financial investigative teams supporting federal law enforcement and helped develop a network analysis and targeting program that enhanced investigative efficiency across agencies.

During his more than twenty years with the DEA, Mr. Brisolari held a succession of senior leadership roles and retired as a member of the Senior Executive Service, serving as the DEA’s Chief of Operations Management. In this capacity, he exercised executive oversight of all operational policies, procedures, and strategic directives governing DEA activities worldwide. Mr. Brisolari directed the agency’s crisis management, disaster recovery, and emergency preparedness programs, ensuring continuity of operations under the most challenging circumstances. He also managed a $700 million operational budget and led the DEA’s Data and Accountability Section, where he was responsible for institutional compliance with internal policy and U.S. Department of Justice mandates for transparency and government accountability.

Mr. Brisolari began his federal law enforcement career as a special agent with the U.S. Department of State’s Diplomatic Security Service, serving in the New York Field Division prior to joining the DEA.
