Capitol security heightened after two men arrested in separate threatening incidents

U.S. Capitol Police displayed steadfast vigilance Wednesday, stopping two major threats, and highlighting the need for strong security at high-profile events. “I think it’s a combination of heightened awareness and, sadly, more people trying to do bad things,” said John Torres in an interview with WASHINGTON (7NEWS), highlighting the escalating challenges. “I wouldn’t be surprised if we see even TSA doing additional screenings for all flights to Washington, D.C., including gate checks, inspections, and more air marshals on those flights,” he added, pointing to the broader implications for public safety.
