Miami Open Tennis Complex

Overview

In 2017 the Miami Open tennis tournament announced that it would move from Key Biscayne to Hard Rock Stadium in 2019. Guidepost Solutions was engaged to provide security design consulting services. The tennis complex consisted of 29 permanent courts, including 11 tournament courts and a 4,900 seat grandstand court built on the south parking lots. The main center court is located inside the stadium proper with temporary grandstands and playing surface. Our team was tasked with designing the security systems to be extensions of the stadium systems.

Guidepost Solutions

The design we provided included access control and video surveillance for the tennis complex, plaza areas surrounding the courts, parking areas and player amenity areas inside the stadium as well as the stadium center court. These systems were added as extensions of the main stadium security management system. The video surveillance system included permanent cameras and temporary cameras for areas that would be used only during the tennis tournament each year. The temporary camera locations were designed to be modular for easy setup at tournament time.
