In early 2023, Guidepost conducted a comprehensive review of the Enterprise Risk Management Program at the University. Specific objectives included validation (or offer “areas of improvement”) about their annual ERM Risk Assessment process. Evaluate pros/cons of the risk selection process (which resulted in selecting 39 risks). We offered specific insights in the following risk assessment components: formula and weighting of various inputs, evaluation form effectiveness, assessment tool effectiveness; rating scale criteria document; consideration of mitigation areas; assignment of “risk owners”; usefulness of “risk categories”, membership of committees; and offered insights into any identified gaps of the current process.
