Leslie Watt, a highly motivated security professional, brings 30 years of experience in the commercial and government security industries to the London office. Mr. Watt takes an analytical approach to problem solving, placing paramount importance on customer relations and client satisfaction.
Prior to joining Guidepost, Mr. Watt served as project engineer at Siemens Smart Infrastructure in Ireland. In that role, he provided sales support and design/engineering of low voltage access control systems for Siemens and also for third-party vendors. Mr. Watt managed projects to the handover of systems to clients. He had spent more than a decade before joining Siemens working in Australia for Diebold Australia and Honeywell Building Solutions.
Mr. Watt started his career serving his commercial security engineering apprenticeship before joining the British government. He first worked within the U.K. Ministry of Defence (MOD), holding a DV High Level clearance as a service engineer. In this role, Mr. Watt commissioned, serviced, and maintained security systems across the U.K. as well as overseas.
Following his time at MOD, Mr. Watt joined the U.K. Foreign + Commonwealth Office in London. He again held his DV High Level clearance to install and service security systems within British embassies and High Commissions overseas. Mr. Watt leveraged his understanding of government installations to join The Security Centre, a commercial security firm in the Cayman Islands. Working from Grand Cayman, he was responsible for installing, commissioning, and the handover of access control, CCTV and intruder systems within departments of the Cayman Islands government as well as with financial institutions on Grand Cayman.
