Jessica Van Valkenburgh

Analyst

Jessica Van Valkenburgh is an analyst at Guidepost Solutions. She supports the Investigations + Business Intelligence, Risk + Compliance, Protective Services, Immigration + Border Services, and DEA Regulatory practice groups.

Ms. Van Valkenburgh participated in an assortment of engagements, overseeing document intake and review, and tracking case progress. Ms. Van Valkenburgh identifies, collects, and analyzes open-source intelligence resources, various media platforms, and public records for relevance and significance in a case. She thoroughly researches and prepares interview outlines, in addition to being present at and supporting the goals of the interviews themselves.

Ms. Van Valkenburgh has supported fraud and corruption risk assessments by leading project management efforts and assisted in report writing. She has also supervised document collection and review, research, and aided in interviews for the Southern Baptist Convention investigation. Ms. Van Valkenburgh assisted bank compliance projects by reviewing anti-money laundering alerts. She has partaken in virtual and on-site hospital inspections, assisting with pharmaceutical controlled substance investigations and regulatory compliance.

Ms. Van Valkenburgh is certified under the Professional Background Screening Associations Fair Credit Reporting Act Certificate Program. She has also completed trauma informed training in preparation for interviewing survivors of abuse.

Before joining Guidepost, Ms. Van Valkenburgh served as an intern at the Montgomery County Police Department for the Special Victims Investigation Unit. In this role, she followed cases of runaway and missing children, she was fully immersed in cases by interviewing parents and friends of the missing children, as well as filing juvenile citations and submitting them to the courts. Ms. Van Valkenburgh also served as an intern at the Virginia Tech Police Department engaging in several seminars, attending an active shooter training, and assisting in rape aggression defense class. Ms. Van Valkenburgh was also an active participant in the Virginia Tech Police Department Student Police Academy.
