Guidepost Solutions Welcomes Akiko Goldberg
Guidepost Solutions, a global leader in domestic and international investigations, compliance solutions, monitoring, and security and technology consulting, announced the appointment of seasoned attorney Akiko K. Goldberg, as a managing director based in New York. She joined the firm’s Emerging Issues and Technology practice, supporting clients with complex investigations and preventative compliance and security solutions.
“Akiko brings a wealth of experience advising global clients on their regulatory and legal challenges and we are pleased to have her join our growing team,” said Julie Myers Wood, CEO, Guidepost Solutions. “Her background and knowledge with investigations, compliance programs, and the technology landscape, as well as her multilingual capabilities will greatly benefit clients as we expand our Emerging Issues and Technology practice into Asia and Europe.”
Goldberg is an attorney with over 14 years of experience managing multijurisdictional and cross-border investigations and litigation. She joins Guidepost from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, where she provided advisory services for corporate clients in white collar criminal, civil, and regulatory investigations and litigation involving antitrust, anti-corruption, sanctions, and ESG matters. Prior to her role at Freshfields, Goldberg served as a litigation attorney at Weil, Gotshal & Manges, where she oversaw cross-border and multi-jurisdictional antitrust and white-collar investigations and advised corporations on compliance program development, structuring, and improvement.

In addition to her cross-border expertise, Goldberg is multilingual, speaking English, Japanese, Mandarin, and Cantonese fluently, along with proficiency in French and Thai. She holds a Master of Laws from Georgetown University Law and a Master of Arts in international relations from Yale University. She also earned a Bachelor of Laws from Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan. Goldberg received certifications in international human rights and refugees and humanitarian emergencies from Georgetown University Law Center and is a member of the American Bar Association.
