José Luis Bernal Mantilla is an analyst, with more than 5 years of professional research experience in global security, organized crime, drug policy, Colombian-governmental policies, and investigations.
Mr. Bernal Mantilla has held various positions as an analyst, leading research efforts for legislation, policies, and government-based programs, monitoring regional projects, coordinating, strategizing and developing ideas for full-cycle project completion.
Prior to joining Guidepost Solutions Mr. Bernal Mantilla was an analyst for the Fundación Ideas para la Paz, a Colombian independent think tank whose mission is to produce knowledge, propose initiatives, develop practices and support processes to contribute in the construction of a stable and lasting peace in Colombia.
Mr. Bernal Mantilla has completed the Building State Capability program at Harvard University’s Center for International Development; a research-based program that focuses on building the effectiveness of public organizations and implementations of policies and programs. He has previously volunteered his time with the board of directors at the Colombian International Relations Network (RedIntercol).
Mr. Bernal Mantilla has written columns and published research articles in academic journals including the Colombia Internacional, and Foreign Affairs Latin America.
